El Paso

La Dede, Director of the El Paso Chapter, is a Mexican American drag queen born and raised in the south of Chicago, currently residing in El Paso, Texas. Full of love and energy, she has been a part of Drag Story Hour since 2018 and is currently the coordinator for Drag Story Hour El Paso, which is a program of the Borderland Rainbow Center.

The Borderland Rainbow Center's mission is to create a community space in which Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual (2SLGBTQIA+) people and their allies can heal, grow, and empower themselves and others. This substance-free space is governed and run according to ethically sound standards and research-based best practices for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and their allies. The BRC connects 2SLGBTQIA+ people to resources for improved physical and mental health, economic stability, legal rights, education, and spiritual and cultural enrichment.

Our mission

Drag Story Hour celebrates storytelling through the dynamic art of drag performance.

Our network creates programming where audiences are invited to express their authentic selves and become bright lights of change.
